Senior Estimator Auckland

Are you an ambitious Senior Estimator looking for the next step in a role where you can really show off your skills?  Conset Construction currently has an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our dynamic team.

We are looking for a commercially minded estimator that is interested in becoming part of a successful business and who is driven and motivated to contribute to its continual growth and market position. 

Working with the General Manager, the key focus of the role is to manage the tendering function of the business, through leading our team of estimators.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:

  • 7 years + of commercial construction experience
  • Excellent organisational skills handling multiple tenders
  • A good grasp of the local market and an understanding of rates
  • Have the experience in leading and mentoring a team
  • Experience in supplier negotiations and value engineering
  • Superb communication skills
  • Experience in Cost X
  • A relevant tertiary education or trade qualified, have NZ Residency or a valid NZ work visa

Senior Quantity Surveyor Auckland

Conset Construction currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join and lead our dynamic QS team.  We are looking for somebody with 7 years + experience working as a QS with good grounding in commercial construction.

Working with the General Manager, the key focus of the role is to manage the contract administration function of the business, through leading our team of Quantity Surveyors.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:

  • Be second to none in all aspects of contract administration
  • Have the experience in leading and mentoring a team
  • Experience in contract negotiations with an exceptional grasp of NZ Legislation  
  • Excellent organisational skills handling multiple projects
  • Superb communication skills. This position will see you dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and you must be able to professionally and assertively convey communication to all involved.
  • A relevant tertiary education or trade qualified, have NZ Residency or a valid NZ work visa

Senior Site Supervisor Auckland

Are you looking for a new challenge? We are looking for you!

Due to growth within our Company we are looking for a Senior Site Supervisor who is looking to make a difference!

Your construction experience, attention to detail and methodical approach to work sets you apart from others.

The successful application should have:

  • At least 7+ years commercial site supervisor experience.
  • Solid understanding of all Health and Safety protocols and processes.
  • Confidence to liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers in all matters of project programming, coordinating of sub trades and deliveries for materials and equipment.
  • The ability to oversee all aspects of the build specific to the projects ensuring timely and cost-effective management of projects. Responsible to carry out pre- and post pour documentation along with Quality and Assurance documentation.
  • The ability to compile accurate records.
  • A good understanding to interpret and follow plans.
  • Experience overseeing large sites and multi projects that are deadline oriented.
  • Excellent communication with employees, supervisors, clients and any other external or internal stakeholders.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of  management on project risks and critical issues.
  • Self-motivating qualities with effective time management skills. 
  • The ability to work as part of a team with great interpersonal skills.

We are looking for a person with:

 The successful applicant will also assist with the erection of equipment on site as and when required. This is a very busy role, with no two days the same.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Wellington

Are you ready for the next step in your career? We are looking for a trade qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our very busy workshop based in Wellington.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring to carry out ongoing vehicle, truck, plant and equipment servicing and preventative maintenance as and when required.
  • Ensuring to visually inspect all vehicles, trucks, plant and equipment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensuring to order parts as and when required.
  • Managing the receipts of parts and checking pricing of parts.
  • Ensuring to maintain and implement ongoing records for servicing and maintenance.
  • Creating and managing maintenance programs for all the Plant and Equipment of the Company as and when required.
  • Ensure to oversee any 3rd party repairs as required from time to time.
  • Maintain all equipment and tools in good working order and repair and store correctly.

What we would need from you:

  • Qualification with 3 years’ experience (including apprenticeship).
  • Fitting and welding experience would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience of commercial vehicle including plant and equipment servicing.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Hard working, cool under pressure and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy workshop.
  • Experience with working on Heavy Machinery and Equipment including but not limited to Telehandlers, Laser screeds, Class 2, 4 & 5 trucks, Hiab trucks, Concrete pumps etc.
